Repeat the Sounding Joy

Joy to the world, the Lord has come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy

No more let sins and sorrows grow
Nor thorns infest the ground
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found, far as the curse is found
Far as, far as the curse is found

He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love, and wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love

Joy to the World is a classic Christmas song, but I love the lyrics so much. It pretty much sums up the gospel in four short stanzas, while proclaiming how joyous this gospel is. That's what I think a lot of Christians miss- the joy. It's easy to let our joy be snuffed out by other things, but how can we not be filled with joy as we remember what our King has done for us?

It's Christmas Eve, but it's not too late. Let's rejoice that our God has done wondrous things for us, and let's spread that joy to others. Not just at Christmastime, but all the time. To repeat the sounding joy is the message we are called to spread. Let's do it with a joyful heart. Joy to the world, the Lord has come!
