Tuesday Thoughts [4]- Real Love

love isn't always a feeling.

it's more of an action,

becuase love isn't sometimes-

it's for always,

and feelings only last so long

before they die away.

real love isn't like that;

it's an ongoing sacrifice

-and sometimes it hurts-

but it's worth it if it's real.

so don't rely on feelings

as your confirmation about love.

becuase while feelings will fade,

real love never fails.

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. // Romans 5:8

Tuesday Thoughts [3]- Shadows

shadows

lurk in the corners

and in the folds

of the unknown 

they're composed

of so many things

too nameless to count

but all so dark

the unknown waits 

ahead

as it's drawn back

the light floods in

erasing the shadows

up to the edge

of the dark future

 waiting

beyond

there's still the shadows

of darkness

hiding in the darkness

of the unrevealed

that seems to stretch

on and on

but the shadows are gone

for the moment

and when they arrive again

there'll always be

more light

that will erase

the never ending

but always defeated

shadows

my eyes look around

see the scars

the suffering

the useless struggles

of those around me

my eyes look inside

see the hurt

the hate

the broken heart

inside of me

Your eyes look inside

see the hurt

find a heart

that's broken

and make it whole again

Your eyes look around

see the scars

find a soul

that's empty

and give it peace

because Your eyes

see more

and farther

and deeper

than mine

They may have seen the answer

But they are still so blind

Refuse to believe

The truth in front of them

That they can really be free

They struggle and suffer

Hiding their unbelief

They're chained by doubt

Burdened by fear

When trials come

Where do they turn?

There's no peace inside

No hope outside

We were once in their place

Chained and imprisoned

Burdened and afraid

Until we were made to understand

And believe the truth

That we can be free

Remember the captives

The burdened and afraid

Go tell them the truth

That will set them free
